Billy Liddell only ever played professionally for Liverpool.

Signed on the recommendation of captain Matt Busby in 1938, the winger went on to become an Anfield icon during 23 years with the Reds.

He scored 228 times for the club, a stat that puts him fourth on LFC's all-time top goalscorers list.

Unfortunately, Liddell represented Liverpool during one of the club's most fallow periods, and his one league title is a poor reflection of the talent the Scot possessed.
