Made club captain at Spanish side Atletico Madrid following Fernando Torres' departure for Liverpool, winger Maxi Rodriguez followed the same path in January 2010 when he was snapped up by Rafael Benitez.
"Every year he gets five to 15 goals from midfield," said the Reds boss.
The Argentina international quickly reconnected with Torres and struck 10 goals in his first full season at Anfield, including back-to-back hat-tricks against Birmingham City and Fulham.
