It's safe to say that Liverpool have steamrolled their way to Kiev.

The Reds have clocked up the highest goal total ever achieved in a Champions League season: 46.

The record was previously held by a Barcelona team that netted 45 goals in 16 games across the 1999-00 campaign at an average of 2.81 goals per game.

But Liverpool have bagged 46 in 14 matches, averaging 3.29 goals per game.

In his first ever Champions League campaign, Roberto Firmino has 10 goals to his name, in addition to his seven assists. Also on 10 goals is Mohamed Salah, who is followed closely behind by fellow winger Sadio Mane on nine.

Interestingly, seven of the last 12 Champions League winners have been the competition's leading scorers the year they have won.

When Liverpool were triumphant in Istanbul in 2005, Rafael Benitez's side plundered 20 goals (including the three in the final) - while the current crop have already surpassed double that number with one game still to play.
