Boss outlines benefits of Reds' work with throw-in coach
Jürgen Klopp has explained why he believes Liverpool will continue to benefit from working with specialist throw-in coach Thomas Gronnemark.
The Dane initially linked up with the Reds during the summer to collaborate with the squad on their deliveries from throw-in situations.
And Klopp confirmed during his pre-Watford press conference at Melwood on Friday that Gronnemark’s programmes will continue to form part of Liverpool’s training schedules.
The manager said: “It’s good, it’s good for us, really good. It’s all about the small things as well - and he helps us massively in that, to be honest.
“I have been a long time in the business and I thought a lot about why things didn’t work out around throw-ins, but I had no clear plan how to improve it.
“It’s good, always good, to have specialists around. He is a very focused man in this part. It is interesting if you talk to a throw-in coach after a game and he only talks about the throw-ins! You think, ‘But the ball was in the game as well, right? On the pitch, rolling!’
“It’s just good and for us, it [is] a really good situation and I’m happy that we’ll do it for another half of the season.”
