Mohamed Salah's thunderous finish against Leeds United is in the running for the Premier League's September Goal of the Month award.

The Egyptian netted a hat-trick on the opening day of 2020-21 to help Liverpool begin the season with a 4-3 win over newly-promoted Leeds.

Two penalties sandwiched a piece of emphatic technique.

Pouncing on a clearance from a free-kick, Salah took one touch to set himself inside the area before unleashing a blistering strike that was still rising as it hit the roof of the net.

The effort is on the eight-goal shortlist for the monthly prize, alongside Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Jack Harrison, Reece James, Matheus Pereira, Marcus Rashford, Riyad Mahrez and James Maddison.
