Jordan Henderson reaction | Porto win, 400th LFC game and Curtis Jones
Jordan Henderson insisted Liverpool still have plenty to do in Champions League Group B after recording a hugely impressive 5-1 win at FC Porto.
The Reds followed up their defeat of AC Milan earlier this month with a comprehensive display at Estadio do Dragao, with Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino each scoring twice to add to a Sadio Mane goal.
Jürgen Klopp’s side lead the section by two points ahead of back-to-back meetings with Atletico Madrid and Henderson is pleased by their start to the group.
But the captain, who reached the landmark of 400 appearances for the club on the night, warned work must still be done for Liverpool to advance to the knockout stages.

On being top of the group and tonight’s victory…
Well, it’s definitely not job done – there’s another four games to play and it is a very difficult group. But we’ve had two very good performances against Milan and now Porto. We’ve applied ourselves very well, put on good performances and got the results we deserved. So, a good start but far from over.
Highlights: Porto 1-5 Liverpool
On the final 15 minutes of the match…
We’ll be disappointed to concede a goal. I thought we were dominant throughout the game so we’ll be a little bit disappointed to concede, but at the same time I thought the overall performance was very good. We scored some brilliant goals. So we’ve got to be pleased because it’s a difficult place to come.
On Curtis Jones’ performance and form…
Curtis has been fantastic. I know, on paper, he’s so young, but I feel as though he has been around the first team for a few years now, he has settled in really well, he has matured really well. And now you’re starting to see what a good player he is over the last few weeks. He has had to be a little bit patient at the beginning of the season but he’s come in and he’s done fantastically well. You can see he has got all the attributes to be a top player. I feel as though he is maturing all the time and he’s putting in some really good performances to help the team. But not only him tonight, I thought the overall performance from the team was very good.
On his 400th Liverpool appearance…
I can’t really describe the feeling, I still get the feeling every time I put the shirt on. I try to give my all for this club every single day. So when I put the shirt on every game, it’s an honour and I don’t take it for granted. To do it 400 times so far is pretty special. But I feel as though I’ve still got a lot left to contribute to this club and hopefully I can do it many more times in the future.
