A total of eight Liverpool players were involved in international fixtures throughout Tuesday.

There were victories for Sadio Mane, Andy Robertson, Takumi Minamino and Caoimhin Kelleher.

Minamino featured for 78 minutes in Japan's 2-1 victory over Australia in a 2022 World Cup qualifier and played a key role in creating Ao Tanaka's opener.

There was a clean sheet for Kelleher, meanwhile, as the Republic of Ireland beat Qatar 4-0 in a friendly.

In World Cup qualifying, Robertson captained Scotland to an important 1-0 win over the Faroe Islands, while Mane's Senegal defeated Namibia 3-1.

Jordan Henderson came off the bench after 76 minutes at Wembley in England's 1-1 draw with Hungary.

But it was a disappointing evening for Kostas Tsimikas, Naby Keita and Conor Bradley

Keita played all of Guinea's 4-1 loss to Morocco in the CAF section of World Cup qualifying, while Tsimikas' Greece lost 2-0 away at Sweden.

Bradley played over an hour as Northern Ireland were beaten 2-1 against Bulgaria.
