Jürgen Klopp expects Ibrahima Konate to be available for Liverpool’s meeting with Wolverhampton Wanderers, while Darwin Nunez could also feature at Anfield on Wednesday night.

Konate has been out since late January due to a muscle injury but is now back in full training and Nunez – who missed the weekend draw with Crystal Palace with a shoulder issue – also completed Monday’s session with his teammates.

Thiago Alcantara, Luis Diaz and Joe Gomez remain sidelined, though.

“Let’s start with the not so positive: Thiago not [available], he is in rehab,” Klopp said, during Tuesday’s pre-match press conference.

“Luis I saw now, I watched half an hour of the rehab session. [He was] Out on the pitch individually, shooting, moving, all looks really good. But he was not in team training yet so that’s probably the decisive information.

“Joe Gomez is out with a muscle problem. Ibou trained yesterday completely normal and Darwin as well and now we have to see… Ibou had no issues since he was injured, we just wanted to give him more training time before we include him again, and that should be now fine.

“Darwin, we have to see. It’s a shoulder, it looked absolutely OK yesterday but I don’t know before some people will tell me how he reacted to yesterday.”

For Wolves, Matheus Cunha may be in contention despite being stretchered off with an ankle problem during his side’s 1-1 draw at Fulham last Friday.

Head coach Julen Lopetegui said on Tuesday: “He doesn’t have a big injury, but it’s been more or less difficult in these five days.

“We will make the last decision [before the game]. It depends if he’s better, but I don’t know if it’ll be enough. It’s not serious, fortunately. Now, we will see if he’s available or not.”

Pedro Neto has been out since October but may return to the Wolves squad at Anfield, with Lopetegui stating: “Pedro is working better and day by day he feels better. He’s closer to helping us and we’re happy for him. It’s a good thing for the team.”

However, Hwang Hee-chan and Boubacar Traore are not fit, while Chiquinho and Sasa Kaladzic are long-term absentees.
