Dominik Szoboszlai is determined to keep building on the 'very proud moment' of his first Liverpool appearance.

The summer signing started Wednesday afternoon’s pre-season opener against Karlsruher SC and featured for 45 minutes of an eventual 4-2 win for the Reds.

Darwin Nunez and Cody Gakpo were among the goals before a late Diogo Jota double ensured a victorious beginning to the schedule for Jürgen Klopp’s men.

Post-match, Szoboszlai reflected on the game and his first outing in the shirt with Liverpoolfc.com. Read the No.8’s reaction below…

On how it felt to make his first Liverpool appearance…

It felt very good, a very proud moment for me and for my family as well. I’m really looking forward to having more and more games in the Liverpool shirt.

On playing in a real game after training with the squad so far…

Yeah, I just give my best every single day, wake up thinking in the best way to give my best and also perform well in the game. That’s why I’m working really hard for this moment and I’m just going to continue [that].

On the positive feeling of winning the opening pre-season fixture…

Of course it always feels good to win the game. I think we did everything that is possible; a good first game, now concentrating on the second one.

On what he has been most pleased with in his adaptation at Liverpool so far…

I felt really, really good – nice guys. They did it like I came to a team [where it feels like] I’ve been already. I thank all of them. Also the manager is German so I know this style of play in football, so nothing new for me. But still I have to do everything my best every day – and I’m going to do it.
