Kuyt: We're not giving up
Dirk Kuyt accepts Liverpool were below par against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday, but is refusing to give up the fight for a Europa League berth.
Spurs' 2-0 victory at Anfield leaves European qualification in their hands and they will clinch fifth place if they beat Birmingham at White Hart Lane on the final day of the season next Sunday.
However, should they fail to record a win and Liverpool better their result against Aston Villa at Villa Park, it will be Kenny Dalglish's men who are playing continental football in 2011-12.
"Obviously the result was very disappointing," said Kuyt. "We all hoped for a good result and a win, but it didn't happen.
"There's still one game to go and hopefully they (Spurs) will draw next week and we win and get into Europe next season.
"It's disappointing. We gave everything but it wasn't as good as the last couple of weeks."

Having starred in a central attacking role in recent weeks, Kuyt was switched back to the right wing against Tottenham as Andy Carroll partnered Luis Suarez in attack.
The Dutchman, though, is happy to perform in any position for the team.
He said: "For me it doesn't matter, as long as I can help the team when I'm playing. That's the most important thing.
"I always want to be vital in games by scoring goals or giving assists, and the most important thing is the result."
