Carroll, Maxi and Glen update
Kenny Dalglish has revealed Andy Carroll, Maxi Rodriguez and Glen Johnson missed Liverpool's trip to Aston Villa on Sunday due to injury.
Carroll was left on Merseyside due to a knee problem, while Maxi and Johnson have adductor and hamstring knocks respectively.
Dalglish explained: "Andy's not been able to sustain any reasonable time in training and it would have been irresponsible of us to bring him.
"We played him last week (against Tottenham), but it was unfair on him that we did ask him to play. I didn't think we should risk the boy's fitness by bringing him. Although we've not got any games, it's important they're all back fit in July.

"It's the same with Glen, who had a problem with his hamstring, so we left him up there. Maxi had a problem with his adductor, so it's better to miss this game than pre-season training.
"I don't think any of them will need surgery."
Meanwhile, Jay Spearing and Jonjo Shelvey are facing scans on Monday after picking up injuries at Villa Park.
Spearing was forced from the field with an ankle knock following a heavy challenge from Nigel Reo-Coker, while his replacement Shelvey has a knee complaint.
"There were players who played who probably shouldn't have," Dalglish said. "Jonjo Shelvey should not have played more than 20-25 minutes, so I think his knee will be a bit painful in the morning and young Jay's ankle will certainly be a bit painful in the morning.
"But you get to this stage of the season and I am sure a lot of people would say that."
Dalglish added: "Jonjo might be the biggest problem for the summer and wee Jay. They've got scans tomorrow to see what their problems are.
"Soto (Kyrgiakos) was injured as well, so maybe the end of the season has come at the right time for us - I might have been in next week!"
