Happy birthday, Liverpool FC
Liverpool Football Club is today celebrating its 119th birthday.
The Reds were born when John Houlding received a certificate to alter the name of the club residing at Anfield from Everton Football Club and Athletic Grounds Company Limited to Liverpool Football Club and Athletic Grounds Company Limited.
The club had been formed on March 15, 1892 at Houlding's house on Anfield Road when he and his closest friends left from Everton FC to create a new team.
However, it was not until June 3 that the name Liverpool Football Club and Athletic Grounds Ltd was formally recognised by the Board of Trade, and the club could start to make history.
