Jordan gets Spain start
Jordan Henderson starts for England tonight when they face Spain in their opening game of the U21 European Championships.
Liverpool's new signing is one of the key figures in Stuart Pearce's side and it promises to be a intriguing encounter (kick-off 7.45pm).
England U21s also play Ukraine on Wednesday and end their group stage with a clash against Czech Republic next Sunday.
Speaking about the Championships, Henderson said: "Denmark is really important for the experience of playing at tournament level - it is something we have to get used to if we're going to win a World Cup or a Euro with the seniors.
"What the German U21 team did last time is an inspiration. Six of their team ended up in the World Cup squad and doing very well at the tournament. Everyone wants to produce good players. We have loads of talent who could come through to the seniors.
"At U21 level, we feel there is a process whereby you can get passed through the ranks. If you do well, Fabio Capello will notice - or Stuart Pearce will tell him. He goes to a lot of the games to watch us and that is important to all the players who play in the U21s."
The game is being shown live on Sky Sports 1 and kick-off at 7.45pm.
