Liverpool fans were today urged to support lifelong Kopite Cliff Morton's bid to become a 'Local Hero' - and help raise money for four Reds-related charities in the process.

Cliff from Corby is in the running to win the Everards Tiger Local Hero 2011 accolade after being nominated by friends for his fundraising efforts for local charities.

The Anfield season-ticket holder uses contacts within the game he has built up over the years to obtain signed memorabilia, which is then auctioned off for good causes.

The winner of the Local Hero award is due to receive £1,000 - £500 for themselves and £500 for the charity of their choice.

However, should he win, Cliff has decided to donate the entire amount to four different charities.

He plans to give £250 each to Jamie Carragher's 23 Foundation, the Steven Gerrard Foundation, Liam Harker Memorial Fund and the Marina Dalglish Appeal.

Doing your bit to help Cliff win the award could not be simpler - click the link below, select Cliff's photograph with Kenny Dalglish and then enter your name and email address to place your vote.

Voting closes at 5.30pm BST today (Friday, June 24).
