Kenny Dalglish predicts Luis Suarez will return buzzing for the Barclays Premier League season following his heroics so far in the Copa America.

A Suarez brace helped Uruguay overcome Peru to reach Sunday night's final against Paraguay.

The Liverpool man is joint top of the scoring charts in the tournament on three and Dalglish has been following his progress with pride.

"We're all absolutely delighted for Luis," said the boss.

"He has done really well over there. He's taken his goals well and showed what a big threat he is.

"It's a fantastic achievement for him to get to the final of the Copa America and he has made a huge contribution to Uruguay's progress.

"We're looking forward to him winning the final and then coming back to us. Hopefully he will be back with a winners' medal."

Coach Steve Clarke has already indicated that neither Suarez or Brazil midfielder Lucas Leiva will be rushed into action when they return from South America.

Suarez has played eight games for his national side this summer, but Dalglish added: "I think regardless of what happens on Sunday night Luis will come back to us buzzing.

"He's very enthusiastic and it will be great to have him back around."
