Kenny Dalglish insists goalkeeper Peter Gulacsi will benefit greatly from his season-long loan will Hull City as the stopper prepares to make his Tigers debut against the Reds on Saturday.

The Liverpool manager is an admirer of the 21-year-old Hungary U21 international and claims playing regular football in the Championship will be good for his development.

"Every player needs games as well as training and the most important thing for Peter now is that he plays matches," said Dalglish.

"It's good that he's gone to Hull in good time before the start of the season so he can get used to the surroundings and the players there.

"We're been delighted with Peter and going to Hull is all part of his education.

"Going there will help his career progress and he will get a lot of experience from playing at that level.

"He's a good keeper and I just hope he doesn't put the shutters up against us on Saturday!"

Meanwhile, Tigers boss Nigel Pearson is delighted to get the highly rated 'keeper and believes he will prove to be a very useful last line of defence for his side.

"Liverpool always kept us up to date with the situation on their goalkeepers and because of the situations that had arisen there, he was required to go with them on the tour of the Far East," said Pearson.

"It was always something we were confident of getting done but I'm delighted to get it over the line. He's delighted to be with us and it gives us a very promising young goalkeeper.

"When any side has young players who you think are going to make the step up for you, it's important for them to get game time.

"Peter will gain good experience with us and he also comes with a very good reputation. I'm sure he'll be a very positive addition."
