Academy striker Michael Ngoo has paid tribute to the welcome England received following their arrival in Colombia ahead of the U20 World Cup - watch an amusing video of the events online now.

The young Lions were serenaded by security staff and a parrot mascot as they touched down to surreal scenes at Bogota airport.

Ngoo was delighted by the friendly greeting and feels it has already gone down as an incident to remember.

"It's really good here. They gave us a very warm welcome and that was nice. We have a lot of expectation to live up to as you can see from that," he said.

"I'm enjoying it. I've only been here a day but I'm looking forward to getting on the pitch and performing.

"The welcome was very funny and was a good laugh, especially when the females came up to us and offered us a dance. There was no turning back then!"

Ngoo will be hoping to get the nod for England's opener against North Korea on Friday.

The towering frontman is itching to sample some action and feels Brian Eastwick's charges have started to fully adapt to the sweltering weather conditions.

"It's been hard, but we feel we've done that now," he said. "It's very hot. We've been working hard as a team tactically and we should be alright if we can take what we have learned on to the pitch.

"Everyone is buzzing about the first game. Everyone is talking about it and can't wait to play. It's a good game for us and should be a strong test."
