Liverpool Ladies have completed the signing of Scotland international Caroline Weir from Bristol Academy.

Weir, a highly-rated midfielder with a keen eye for goal, joins up with the Reds ahead of the 2016 FA Women's Super League campaign.

The 20-year-old already has silverware to her name, having claimed the FA Women's Cup with Arsenal Ladies in 2014 courtesy of a 2-0 victory over Everton Ladies.

And, after completing her switch to Liverpool, Weir wasted little time in setting her sights on adding to her medal haul.

She said: “Liverpool Ladies are a really ambitious club and I am confident that we can win more trophies over the next few seasons.

“It is a great move for me. There are so many talented players here and I am really looking forward to playing alongside them in order to develop my game.”

Liverpool Ladies manager Scott Rogers enthused: “Caroline is an exciting, young player who has huge potential.

"Having watched her performances for Bristol Academy and Scotland, I am confident that she can provide us with a real goal threat from midfield.”
