Ladies pay special visit to Alexandra on SA tour
Liverpool Ladies paid a special visit to the township of Alexandra on Tuesday to participate in a coaching session alongside the sponsors of the Reds tour of South Africa, Discovery.
Scott Rogers and his new-look squad participated in small-sided matches and a number of training drills before answering some questions from the local schoolchildren in South Africa.
Club ambassador Gary McAllister and official mascot Mighty Red were also in attendance to meet some of the local youngsters as well as provide autographs and pose for pictures.
On the visit to Alexandra, Reds manager Rogers said: “It is fantastic for the players and staff to be able to visit those in the local community and sample the local culture.
“The children were delighted when we joined in with the football sessions and hopefully our players are able to act as role models for any young aspiring female footballers in South Africa.”
