Liverpool Ladies duo Martha Harris and Kate Longhurst visited Childwall Sports Academy on Monday to join in with the newly-formed coaching sessions for parents, MumBall.

The scheme is the brainchild of two mums who teamed up together to offer football fitness meetings for women looking to get fit and healthy.

Becki Gerrard and Louise Codman host the sessions in order to provide parents with a chance to get an active workout as well as providing mothers with a chance to socialise together.

Reds pair Harris and Longhurst joined in with a MumBall class before answering some questions from those in attendance at the Sports Academy in Childwall.

On attending the session, Longhurst said: “MumBall is a fantastic concept and credit to Becki and Louise for creating the coaching sessions to provide parents with a chance to get healthy as well as the opportunity to meet other parents on a social level.

“I was really impressed by the standard of all those participating and it is fantastic to see so many women of all ages getting involved with football.”

Becki said: “It was brilliant to be able to welcome Kate and Martha down to tonight’s MumBall session. To be able to welcome two professional female footballers is fantastic for the girls and I would like to thank Kate and Martha for taking time out of their season to join in with tonight’s session.”

The MumBall sessions are held on Mondays between 8pm and 9pm at Childwall Sports and Science Academy, Fiveways, Queens Drive. Limited spaces are available, book a place by emailing hello@mumball.com. Visit www.facebook.com/MumBa11 or follow on Twitter @MumBall_UK.
