Dutch star Shanice Van De Sanden netted twice as Liverpool Ladies produced a superb display to sweep aside Sheffield FC 5-2 in a friendly encounter in Kirkby.

After grabbing three goals in their last friendly against Hibernian, Scott Rogers' team continued their encouraging form in preparation for the FA Women's Spring Series.

Mollie Green fired the Ladies into the lead after Kate Longhurst's initial effort was saved, and Van De Sanden made it 2-0 with a superb solo strike.

Captain Gemma Bonner was on hand to secure the third goal after meeting an inviting cross from Natasha Harding.

Lagan Making then pulled a couple of goals back for Sheffield, before Van De Sanden made it 4-2 and Martha Harris completed the scoring for the Reds.

Liverpool Ladies start their Spring Series campaign on Sunday April 23 when they travel to Yeovil Town Ladies.
