Ladies duo celebrate International Women's Day at Anfield
To celebrate International Women's Day 2017, Liverpool Ladies duo Alex Greenwood and Kate Longhurst joined participants from the LFC Foundation Women's & Girls programme for a Q&A at Anfield last Sunday.
At half-time of the Reds' 2-1 victory over Burnley, the Ladies duo watched a skills session featuring participants from the LFC Foundation before giving their thoughts ahead of the FAWSL Spring Series.
Defender Greenwood said: “It's great to see the club supporting International Women's Day and it was a fantastic reception for everyone involved.
“The girls from the LFC Foundation Women's & Girls programme really enjoyed playing on the pitch and I'm sure will remember this day for a long time.”
Midfielder Longhurst added: “It was great to be able to mark such an important date in the equality calendar by being invited onto the pitch to watch the girls during their skills session.
“Hopefully having me and Alex encouraging them and offering them advice will help to inspire the girls to become professional footballers as well.”
