Anfield may be just over 12,000 miles away from Hong Kong, but Liverpool will receive fervent support from their fans in this corner of the world when they host Arsenal later on Saturday.

Hundreds of supporters gathered at the Cityplaza shopping mall throughout today, with the Liverpool Legends present here for the third edition of LFC World helping to get them in the mood for the big clash with the Gunners.

This morning, Sami Hyypia, Patrik Berger and Jason McAteer attended a Legends Q&A and signing session at Cafe 8 in Hong Kong’s Central district, before McAteer headed back to Cityplaza to take part in a special commentary challenge.

The former Republic of Ireland international was joined by several youngsters to commentate on some of Liverpool’s finest moments of the season so far, while Berger and Vladimir Smicer delighted the hordes of supporters in attendance in meet and greet sessions.

One fan, Hung, started queuing at 7.30am local time - several hours before the Legends were scheduled to arrive - to ensure he got the chance to meet his heroes.

He explained: “We know there are so many LFC supporters in Hong Kong so we got here very early!”

Berger, Smicer, Hyypia and McAteer will be joined by Luis Garcia later on as all five Legends attend a special viewing party of the Arsenal game with local supporters’ clubs at Champs Bar.
