Metro: Reds step up target pursuit
Liverpool are thought to be closing in on a £14m deal for Paris Saint-Germain striker Ezequiel Lavezzi, according to reports.
The Reds have been linked with the Argentine since the summer, with speculation only mounting following Mario Balotelli's inability to find form since his move to Anfield.
And according to the Express, Liverpool are set to wrap up the deal before Monday night's transfer deadline.
A number of clubs in Italy have also been linked with the former Napoli forward, who was left out of Laurent Blanc's winter training camp, seemingly signalling the end of his PSG career.
The 29-year-old has scored just two goals for the French champions this term and has not started a league game for the club since the middle of December.
