Reds 'handed Gotze boost'
Liverpool have been handed a boost in their pursuit of Mario Gotze, with the German’s agent admitting he could leave Bayern Munich.
The Reds have been kept busy this summer and have already secured the services of Christian Benteke, Nathaniel Clyne, Roberto Firmino, Danny Ings and James Milner.
Brendan Rodgers remains on the market though, and could be set to launch an offer for Gotze after his agent refused to rule out a move abroad.
The midfielder’s representative, Volker Struth, told Tuttosport: “Mario has made it clear that his last two seasons have not been idyllic.
“However, it’s also true that no club has come forward with an offer. Bayern have not ruled out a possible transfer, just as we won’t rule out any possible opportunity, to stay or go abroad.
“There’s still a long way to go until the end of the transfer window, so anything can still happen.”
Liverpool have allegedly been tracking Gotze, who scored the winning goal in the 2014 World Cup winner, for quite a while, although Manchester United and Arsenal have also been linked with the German.
