Liverpool monitor Betis prospect
Liverpool are monitoring developments with Real Betis prospect Dani Ceballos.
Real Betis sporting director Eduardo Macia, a former Liverpool chief scout, has been trying to convince the 19-year-old to stay at Betis and continue his development.
He has just 12 months left on his current contract and has a buyout clause set at £8 million.
However, if he sees out the final year he could leave for minimal compensation and can sign a pre-contract agreement with Liverpool in January.
Liverpool, Roma and Real Madrid are all aware of his situation. Ceballos is a creative midfielder who can play on the right also and enjoyed a starring role in Spain's U19 European Championship triumph.
Liverpool's interest comes following claims from Spanish newspaper Diario de Sevilla that contact had been made between the clubs.
Their report even noted that terms, including a house and car, had been met as part of the deal, with a £1.1m salary plus bonuses on the table.
Ceballos has been compared to Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas previously, and tipped for a future with the senior Spain national side.
He helped Betis get promoted back to La Liga last season, scoring five goals in 33 matches.
Liverpool have made plenty of changes during a busy summer transfer window, most notably with the arrivals of James Milner, Roberto Firmino and Christian Benteke.
