Liverpool are the latest club to be linked with a move for Lazio midfielder Lucas Biglia, who is also a transfer target for Real Madrid.

Reds boss Jurgen Klopp is known to be an admirer of the Argentina enforcer, who was initially a target of his at Borussia Dortmund, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

Biglia’s fine form this season could earn him a move to a bigger club, with Lazio holding out for a fee of around £21million.

Having lost Steven Gerrard in the summer, Liverpool could do with a top quality addition in the middle of the park.

They may be in luck in their pursuit of Biglia as he is keen to move somewhere he would be a regular, which is not guaranteed at Real.

Biglia, 29, has shown he can fill that void, scoring four goals and contributing one assist from a primarily defensive midfield role this season.
