EXCLUSIVE: Coutinho wants freestyle battle with Reds 'keepers
My Melwood sources can exclusively reveal Philippe Coutinho will take part in a street football freestyle competition at Liverpool One on Friday afternoon – against one of his teammates.
According to rumours, the Brazilian playmaker has laid down the gauntlet to his fellow dressing room members at Melwood, but is giving fans the chance to select who he faces.
A source close to Coutinho, who isn’t named Lucas, Joao or Alberto…honest, said: “Philippe is desperate to battle one of his teammates in a skills freestyle.
“He’s particularly eager to go up against either Simon Mignolet or Adam Bogdan, but is willing to let the fans decide with a vote on the Liverpool website.”
It’s speculated the freestyle will take place outside the Liverpool FC official store at an unknown time on Friday afternoon.
However, our training ground source, whose name definitely isn’t Lucas, added: “We shouldn’t forget that Philippe is known as ‘The Magician’.
“So if he’s not there, he’s probably performed a vanishing trick and disappeared…so unlucky!”

This story has been reproduced from today's media. It does not necessarily represent the position of Liverpool Football Club…or Lucas Leiva! (And clearly, Coutinho won't be having a freestyle battle against one of his teammates in Liverpool One the day before a game!)
