Liverpool could be set to revive their interest in Barcelona right-back Martin Montoya in the upcoming January transfer window.

The Reds are long-time admirers of the Spanish defender, who could have his loan at Inter Milan ended early, according to the Daily Mirror, which cites Corriere dello Sport.

Montoya, 24, has not managed to establish himself as a regular at Barca, and has also endured a difficult time at Inter, failing to make a single appearance so far this season.

Still, Liverpool could be interested if he becomes available, with Jürgen Klopp likely to look to put his own stamp on a squad inherited from Brendan Rodgers.

If a deal does happen, it is most likely that Montoya would look for another loan move.
