Reds in race for unsettled German star
Liverpool have entered the race to sign unsettled Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos, according to reports.
The German international is reportedly looking for a move away from the Bernabeu after falling out of favour with new boss Rafa Benitez.
Last month, Spanish television show El Chiringuito reported the former Bayern Munich star had asked his agent Volker Struth to find him a new club, with Manchester United believed to be showing interest.
And tensions appeared to be running high between the midfielder and former Liverpool boss earlier in December after he was dropped to the bench for Madrid's 1-0 defeat to Villarreal.
When asked why Kroos had been left out of his plans, Benitez replied bluntly: "He didn't play because Casemiro did."
The reports of bad blood between Kroos and the manager have failed to die down, and now Fichajes suggest Liverpool are willing to offer him an escape route.
The Spanish outlet claim Jurgen Klopp is keen to bring his fellow countryman to Anfield and would welcome such quality in his midfield.
Although, the Reds could face stiff competition from former club Bayern Munich who are keen to see him make a return to the Allianz Arena, the report adds.
Kroos has made 15 La Liga appearances this term and has four assists to his name but is yet to score a single goal.
