PL clubs on high alert for Rossi
Fiorentina have left the door open to a host of Premier League clubs chasing a source of goals by revealing that Giuseppe Rossi is free to leave the club.
Rossi has given Europe’s leading clubs enough glimpses of his natural goalscoring ability to take a gamble on the 28-year-old’s ability to overcome his injury problems.
And Viola official Mario Cognigni has said he is willing to grant Rossi a loan move away during the January transfer window.
"He has to understand at this time, if he wants to play elsewhere, we would like to think he will return," the Fiorentina executive vice-chairman told Italian media outlet Corriere Fiorentino.
"And in the future he could be of even greater value for Fiorentina."
Having started his career at Manchester United, Rossi was sold to Villareal where he established himself as a lethal striker by scoring 82 goals in 190 appearances.
Then two anterior cruciate ligament injuries were followed by a €11million move to Fiorentina in 2013.
Having begun life in promising fashion for the Viola, Rossi again suffered ligament damage which has seen him make just 31 appearances in Serie A since his move three seasons ago.
Liverpool are the latest club to have been linked with a move for Rossi as Jurgen Klopp looks to solve his goalscoring problems.
