Switzerland international Granit Xhaka says he will only quit Borussia Monchengladbach for the guarantee of first-team football, with both Arsenal and Liverpool reportedly keen on his signature.

Xhaka, 23, is said to have caught the eye of Reds and Gunners scouts.

Monchengladbach are determined to keep their ace and Xhaka seems happy for now.

However, he told German newspaper Bild he is willing to listen to offers if one of Europe's biggest sides comes knocking.

"Gladbach are a top club," he said.

"But if I were someday to go to a top, top, top club, I want to play there.

"I'm not the type to be on the bench."

Liverpool are reportedly considering an offer for the Monchengladbach midfielder, who boasts 26 appearances for club and country this season and who is valued at around £37.6million.

And Arsenal are also said to be keeping tabs on the combative star, who has picked up nine yellow cards and three reds already this term, despite signing Basel defensive midfielder Mohamed Elneny last week.

Xhaka's performances have helped Gladbach move into fourth in the Bundesliga table as they seek a Champions League spot.

The club finished bottom of their Champions League group this season, earning just one win and two draws in a pool alongside Juventus, Manchester City and Sevilla.
