Manchester United have joined the race to sign Alvaro Morata, according to reports.

The Juventus striker had an excellent 2014/15 campaign, scoring 15 goals, including important strikes in the Champions league semi-final and final.

But this term the Spain international has found the going a little tougher, scoring just once in 18 Serie A

And this, coupled with the the fact Massimiliano Allegri has favoured Paulo Dybala and Mario Mandzukic, has sparked rumours of a January exit.

According to Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, Liverpool are leading the charge with an offer of £45million and have begun talks.

However, Tuttosport claim Premier League rivals Arsenal and Manchester United are also showing interest.

But they may have to see off competition from former club Real Madrid first, with the report claiming the La Liga side have first refusal on the striker.

Morata left the Bernabeu in 2014 for Juve, and it's understood the club put in place a £23million buy-back clause.

And the fee is a bargain compared to his reported release clause of £61m that other clubs may have to meet should Juve not be willing to sell.
