Ronald Koeman has warned Jurgen Klopp to forget about signing Shane Long.

Liverpool are reportedly been on bringing the Southampton striker into Anfield this month as they look to bolster their attacking options.

But Koeman has told Klopp that none of his players will be leaving this month.

"We have brought one player in (Charlie Austin from QPR) and no player will go out," said Koeman.

"You know my answer. Nobody will go out. Maybe I have to repeat it 80 times more, but if you like it, I will do it."

Alexandre Pato’s agent says Liverpool still have a chance of signing his client.

The forward appeared to be close to sealing a move to Chelsea, with reports suggesting that the London club had offered him a three-year contract.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp advised journalists last week not to “follow the Pato path”. But Gilmar Veloz has today insisted that FOUR teams, including the Reds, are still in the running for Pato.

Veloz also revealed that despite the best efforts of two of Pato’s other representatives, Kia Joorabchian and Giuliano Bertolucci,Corinthians are yet to receive a formal bid for the 26-year-old.

“The guys are working on getting an offer, but nothing Corinthians are yet to receive one,” he told UOL Esporte in Brazil.

“The January market is very limited,” Veloz added, before being asked which sides still are still in the race to sign the striker.

“Chelsea, Liverpool, Sporting [Lisbon] and Benfica,” Veloz replied. "All four have a chance.”

Chelsea and Liverpool are going head to head for free-scoring Shakhtar Donetsk forward Alex Teixeira, writes Mirror Football's David Maddock and Darren Lewis.

The Reds' MD Ian Ayre has flown out to the Ukrainian club’s winter training camp in Florida, but they have had their £25million offer for the player rejected.

Chelsea have been in talks with Shakhtar for some time, and are still hopeful of concluding a deal for a fee closer to £30m — although Liverpool are determined to fight them all the way.

Ironically, 26-year-old Teixeira - who has scored 26 goals in 25 games - suffered a hamstring injury as Ayre jetted over to Florida. Liverpool have been hit by a spate of hamstring injuries this season.

Chelsea have been busy with a proposed £8.5m swoop for another Brazilian forward, Pato , and have been relaxed over the progress of the Teixeira deal, with the player keen.

Liverpool target Inaki Williams has penned a new deal at Athletic Bilbao.

The Reds had been keen on trying to take the Spanish forward to Anfield , but he has now committed his future to his hometown club until the summer of 2021.

Williams, 21, became only the second black player in history to play for Athletic, and the first to score while wearing their colours.

The new deal includes a bumper release clause of £50million to try and hold off immediate interest from some of Europe's biggest clubs.
