Last gasp Reds winner in Carrow Road thriller
Adam Lallana scored a dramatic last-gasp winner as Liverpool secured a thrilling 5-4 victory over Norwich City at Carrow Road.
The substitute volleyed home deep into stoppage time as heartache turned to joy for the travelling Kop.
Sebastien Bassong appeared to have rescued a point for the Canaries moments earlier when he made it 4-4.
But there was one final twist in an extraordinary contest as the Reds celebrated their first Premier League victory of 2016.
Roberto Firmino fired Liverpool ahead, but then Jurgen Klopp's side imploded with goals from Dieumerci Mbokani, Steven Naismith and Wes Hoolahan putting the Canaries 3-1 up.
The visitors hit back with Jordan Henderson and Firmino restoring parity before James Milner made it 4-3.
When Bassong equalised, the home fans erupted but Lallana ensured they were quickly silenced.
Liverpool were cruising early on as they caused Norwich plenty of problems.
Firmino latched on to Henderson's through ball but under pressure from Bassong he lifted his shot over the bar.
The Reds broke the deadlock in the 18th minute. It was a classy team move with Jordon Ibe and Alberto Moreno combining before Milner picked out the run of Firmino.
Declan Rudd got a touch but couldn't keep it out as Firmino's scuffed effort went in off the far post.
Liverpool should have swiftly extended their lead as Milner burst clear but he dallied and allowed Robbie Brady to force it behind.
When Bassong tugged Firmino's shirt on the edge of the box, Moreno fired the 20-yard free-kick wide.
The Reds were cruising but they shot themselves in the foot in familiar fashion just before the half hour mark.
Klopp's side failed to clear their lines from a corner and Mbokani made them pay as he back-heeled into the net from six yards out.
Suddenly, the atmosphere around Carrow Road was transformed and it got even worse for Liverpool four minutes before the break.
Nobody tracked Naismith's run and he finished emphatically after a pass from Wes Hoolahan
Liverpool looked doomed nine minutes into the second half when Moreno stupidly upended Naismith inside the box and Hoolahan stepped up to convert from the spot.
However, they rallied and within seconds the deficit had been halved.
Nathaniel Clyne's cross was touched on by Firmino and Henderson hammered it into the bottom corner.
"Fight," the captain screamed as he raced back to the centre circle with the ball. The message got through and soon the Reds were level.
Adam Lallana, who replaced Ibe, made an instant impact as he crossed for Firmino, who coolly beat Rudd.
The game was there to be won and with 15 minutes they were presented with a gift.
Milner pounced on Russell Martin's backpass and kept his composure to convert.
Christian Benteke replaced Henderson as the Reds looked to hold on.
Bassong levelled in stoppage time with a sweet strike but Liverpool had the final word with Lallana volleying home before racing into the welcoming arms of a jubilant Klopp.
