Reds face competition for Cheryshev
Real Madrid have yet to receive an offer from Liverpool for Denis Cheryshev, who could now join Sevilla on loan.
The Bernabeu club are happy to let the Russian leave in search of first-team action ahead of Euro 2016 and had received encouragement that the Reds would return for the winger after summer interest.
However, with the hours ticking away on the transfer window, Sevilla are understood to now be Cheryshev's most likely destination after their sporting director, Monchi, opened talks late last night.
The 25-year-old also has options in the Bundesliga and back in Russia, while Liverpool now look unlikely to bring a wide player in unless they can revive the deal for their top January target, Shakhtar Donetsk's Alex Teixeira.
