Liverpool have sent their scouts to watch Anderlecht midfielder Samuel Bastien, according to reports.

The 19-year-old, who is loan at Serie B side Avellino, is regarded as one of the rising stars in Belgian football.

His season he has scored two goals in 18 appearances and played for the Belgium's U19s.

According to Italian outlet Calciomercato, the Reds are keeping an eye on Bastien.

But they face strong competition from Juventus, who are reportedly ready to capture the teenager.

Bastien is described as a "classic number eight", capable of playing a deep-lying playmaker role.
