Liverpool to target trio in the transfer window
Jürgen Klopp has been promised backing for a major transfer spree to improve the Liverpool squad this summer.
Liverpool have no set budget, but the impact of the new Premier League TV deal will give Klopp the money he needs to take the make-up of the side in any direction he deems necessary.
Players of the calibre of Bayern Munich’s Mario Götze, who Klopp managed at Borussia Dortmund, is on the manager’s list of targets, although it would take all his powers of persuasion to convince the German World Cup winner to leave for Anfield.
Liverpool also tried to sign Polish international Piotr Zieliński in January, the midfielder currently on loan to Empoli from Udinese. The Merseyside club will try to revive that deal this summer and Klopp is also interested in Leicester City’s 18-year-old left-back, Ben Chilwell.
