European star reveals Premier League desire
Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette has confirmed he is openly seeking a move to the Premier League.
The in-demand 24-year-old was subject to a £25million fro Newcastle during the January transfer window but the Ligue 1 club held firm.
However, Lacazette's clear desire to move to England ahead of the summer may force Lyon into a corner.
An incredible 2014-15 season which saw him net 27 goals in 33 Ligue 1 appearances raised his profile substantially across Europe.
And despite a slow start to this campaign, Lacazette now has 12 goals from 25 games, outlining his belief he can secure a move by continuing to perform highly.
"A departure? Yes, I think about the Premier League is very attractive for a player," Lacazette told Le10Sport.
"But I know that to go, I have to play well this season. So I'm very focused and perhaps after that, I will leave.
"I know it is possible to go in the Premier League and Lyon is also aware."
Lyon are currently chasing Champions League football, as they sit fourth in the Ligue 1 table, but it appears their prized asset has already made up his mind on his immediate future.
With Lacazette looking to take the next step in his career via a Premier League challenge, Newcastle may head back for a bid under new boss Rafa Benitez this summer.
First they'll be looking to secure top-flight football though, while the likes of Arsenal and Liverpool may appeal more to the forward, with both also reportedly interested, according to Le10Sport.
Chelsea are also a club sniffing around for Lacazette as they look to undergo a squad overhaul this summer.
Without the big competition from other European giants, the interested Premier League parties will all feel confident of persuading Lacazette to join.
