Mario Gotze is ready to move to Liverpool in the summer with Jurgen Klopp increasingly confident of signing the World Cup winner for between £15m and £20m.

The attacking midfielder has privately indicated he wants to play again for Klopp, who first nurtured his talent at Borussia Dortmund, and is keen to move to Anfield.

Gotze, whose extra-time goal sealed Germany's success in Brazil two years ago, has seen his fortunes stall at Bayern Munich where injuries and a failure to win the trust of Pep Guardiola mean he has started just one league game since October.

Carlo Ancelotti will replace Manchester City-bound Guardiola in the dug-out, but Gotze is already thinking of Liverpool and working alongside Klopp.

He has one year remaining on his contract at Bayern which is why the fee will be comparatively low by modern-day standards, although his personal terms are likely to swell considerably the overall transfer package.

Gotze, who will be 24 in June, emerged under Klopp having come through the ranks at Dortmund and his arrival would represent a statement of intent from Liverpool in what is shaping up to be another summer of rebuilding.

Liverpool are also tracking Poland midfielder Piotr Zielinski who is on loan at Empoli from Udinese.

"Some people may think it's only rumours but I know something more about it," said Zielinski.

"I work hard in Empoli so that in June I may have a chance for such a big transfer."
