Piotr Zielinski has admitted he has spoken to Poland teammate Jakub Blaszczykowski to discuss Jurgen Klopp and a potential move to Liverpool.

Zielinski has been in fine form for Empoli this term, featuring in all but two of the Italian club's Serie A games as they push for a top-half finish.

The Poland international has caught the eye of Reds boss Klopp, much to the delight of the 21-year-old midfielder.

And Zielinski admits he's since reached out to his Polish teammate Blaszczykowski who previously spent seven years at Borussia Dortmund with the German boss.

“Some people say these are just the rumours but I know a little bit more about it,” Zielinski told Polish website Futbolfejs.pl.

“But until now I just try to play as best as I can in Empoli to have a possible chance in June for such a big transfer move.

“I have spoken with Jakub Blaszczykowski who plays in Fiorentina now about Klopp.

“He told me about his personality, how is Klopp to the players, gave me some tips, but nothing is known yet.

"I constantly have to play well in Empoli to get the interest from the bigger clubs.”
