Liverpool in advanced talks over Mario Gotze transfer
Liverpool are in advanced talks to seal the transfer of Mario Gotze, who is keen to reunite with old manager Jurgen Klopp.
The Bayern Munich forward, whose career was launched by Reds boss Klopp at their former club Borussia Dortmund, has struggled at the Allianz Arena this season.
Recent reports suggest Gotze is not in Bayern’s long-term plans, with Liverpool the frontrunners to snap him up, and this looks to have been confirmed by Spanish journalist Kike Marin.
Tweeting from his official account, Martin claimed that negotiations are already underway to bring Gotze to Liverpool, and he responded ‘Yeah!’ when asked if talks were at an advanced stage.
The 23-year-old attacker has long been considered one of Europe’s best young prospects, and could benefit from more playing time at Anfield.
Gotze notably scored Germany’s winner in the 2014 World Cup final victory over Argentina, and also has four Bundesliga title wins to his name.
