Liverpool enter race with West Ham to sign PSG midfielder
Liverpool have joined the race to sign Paris Saint-Germain midfield prospect Ballo Toure Fode, according to reports.
The 19-year-old has been on the books of the Ligue 1 side since the age of 11 and has impressed for PSG's reserves and their Under-19 UEFA Youth League squads.
Fode made 10 appearances and scored one goal in the UEFA Youth League side, which was beaten 2-1 in the final against Chelsea.
Despite his promising displays he has yet to be offered a professional contract - and with just one year remaining on his trainee deal, it has put a host of potential suitors on alert.
French website FootMercato claim a number of top Premier League clubs are interested in the left-sided midfielder, who can also play at left-back.
These clubs include Liverpool, West Ham, Manchester City, Southampton and Stoke, who have all been monitoring his situation.
Jürgen Klopp is renowned for nurturing youth and giving them a chance to break in the first team, so this could be the determining factor in luring Fode to Anfield should PSG decide to not offer him professional terms.
Meanwhile West Ham, who the Daily Mail claim were recommended Fode by scouts last season, could reignite their interest ahead of their move to the Olympic Stadium.
