Liverpool may have to pay £15.4m to sign midfielder
Liverpool may have to pay around £15.4million to sign Malaga midfielder Ignacio Camacho.
The Reds have been linked with the 26-year-old after his impressive La Liga season.
The economic rights to Camacho were jointly owned by Malaga and investment group Futbol Global Management.
However, yesterday the Spanish side completed a deal which gave them 100 per cent control of the midfielder’s rights.
Malaga president Sheikh Abdullah Bin Nasser Al Thani said: “Malaga Club de Futbol has bought the economic rights for Camacho.
“Camacho is today 100 per cent property of Malaga Club de Futbol, and we want him to remain an important player in the project of our club.”
And Valencia-based newspaper Super Deporte say any clubs interested in Camacho will have to pay his £15.4m (€20m) release clause or a fee close to that number.
Last week, the Spaniard admitted he wants to be the person that decides his future.
He said: "I don't know if I'll have the last word on my way out or if the club have any obligation to accept a certain amount, but I'd like to be the one to decide."
