Price set for Barcelona star
Liverpool will not be able to land Aleix Vidal for any less than £45million because he is expected to replace Dani Alves, according to reports.
Vidal joined Barcelona only last summer in a deal that could be worth up to £17m depending on add-on conditions met.
He had attracted the attentions of the Spanish giants in his first and only season at Sevilla as he helped them to the second of three consecutive Europa League titles.
The right-back had previously been on the books of no fewer than 15 clubs including both Barca and Real Madrid as a youth player.
Vidal has struggled to break onto the first team at the Nou Camp this season with only 14 appearances in all competitions.
And according to Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo, Jurgen Klopp is planning on offering Vidal a way out of Barcelona this summer.
However, the report also claims that the Liverpool will have a hard time convincing Barcelona to sell.
Luis Enrique is said to see Vidal as the perfect replacement for 33-year-old Dani Alves who is expected to leave this summer with Juventus the most likely destination.
It means that the only way Barca could be convinced to sell is if the Reds match his minimum fee release clause which is reportedly around the £45m mark.
And while Klopp is desperate to reinforce his squad in a big way this summer, spending nearly £50m on a right-back is unlikely to be at the top of his list.
