Liverpool are reported to be weighing up a move for Arsenal defender Kieran Gibbs, who looks to be heading for the exit door.

Gibbs struggled for action at the Emirates Stadium last season as he played second fiddle to Nacho Monreal and Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is happy to let him go.

Wenger is keen on Leicester youngster Ben Chilwell, who is also a target for Liverpool, so is happy to cash in on Gibbs and use the money to land the Foxes defender.

Liverpool want someone to put pressure on Alberto Moreno and see Gibbs as the perfect player to do that, although the 26-year-old will not want to swap one bench for another and will want assurances over how much game time he will get.

Gibbs will not come cheap though and reports claim the Gunners will be holding out for a fee in the region of £12million for the England international.

Gibbs is not the only Arsenal player attracting the interest of Reds boss Jurgen Klopp, with Theo Walcott and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain also possible targets.
