Reds make bid for Marek Hamsik
Liverpool have reportedly made a €45million (£34.8m) bid to sign Marek Hamsik.
Jurgen Klopp is set to bring in a host of fresh talent this summer as he prepares for his first full season in charge of the Reds.
And according to Tribal Football, Klopp is keeping a close eye on Napoli’s Hamsik.
The 28-year-old has been one of the standout performers for Slovakia at Euro 2016 and scored the winner in their 2-1 win over Russia last week.
The report claims Napoli have received an offer for their star midfielder from Liverpool, with a four-year contract on the table.
Manchester United and Chelsea are also understood to be tracking Hamsik with Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte both keen to bolster their respective attacks.
Mourinho is on the hunt to land a marquee signing, while Conte is familiar with Hamsik’s playing style from his time in Serie A.
Hamsik’s agent Juraj Venglos recently told Slovakian outlet Pluska that he has received offers for the Napoli star.
He said: “After the match with Russia, I had a number of phonecalls.
“I won’t be specific at the moment though, Marek has a contract with Napoli. His value was already high, and it certainly won’t have gone down.
“He was already well-known, it’s not just about these two games he’s played.
“Could he leave for €35m (£27.2m)? It could be that, it depends on the conditions of Napoli. It could be higher or it could be lower. Or in the end it might be irrelevant.
“Because he could stay at Napoli? Yes, anything is possible.”
Italian publication Gazetta World quote Venglos saying: “Napoli are a great club.
“As for the chances of Marek Hamsik leaving… At the moment, I would say 50-50.”
