Hull issue 'hands off' warning over left-back
Hull City have issued Liverpool with a 'hands off' warning over Andrew Robertson after the Reds were linked with a move for the Scotland international left-back.
Jurgen Klopp is believed to have turned his attentions towards the 22-year-old after being left frustrated in his pursuit of Leicester City’s Ben Chilwell with the Premier League champions demanding £10million for the teenager.
Reports suggested that newly-promoted Hull would be ready to part with Robertson if Liverpool offered £12million which would enable them to re-sign Republic of Ireland Euro 2016 hero Robbie Brady from Norwich City as his replacement.
Brady, who netted the winning goal against Italy on Wednesday to put his country through to the last 16, reluctantly quit the KC Stadium last summer after the Tigers’ relegation.
However, a Hull City spokesman told the ECHO: “I can confirm that Hull City have received no approach from Liverpool in relation to Andrew Robertson. And nor would we welcome one.
“We are trying to add four players to our squad for the new season and certainly wouldn’t want to lose one who has three years left on his contract.”
Glaswegian Robertson who was released by Celtic as a youngster started his senior career at Queen’s Park and joined Hull from Dundee United in a £2.85million move in July 2014.
