Reds in transfer battle for Subotic
Borussia Dortmund have given Neven Subotic permission to talk to other clubs, according to reports.
Subotic has fallen down the pecking order at Dortmund since Thomas Tuchel's arrival at the club and made just 11 appearances in all competitions last term.
As a result, the Bundesliga club have now given him permission to talk to other sides as he prepares to leave the Westfalenstadion after eight years.
German newspaper Bild claim more than one Premier League club is showing interest in the centre-back, as well as German side Koln.
The report says Dortmund will demand a fee in the region of £4million for the Serbia international.
Bild's claims tie in with reports in the British press that Liverpool and Middlesbrough are both keen to sign Subotic.
The Evening Gazette say Boro want to make the defender their next high-profile signing after completing a deal for Manchester United outcast Victor Valdes this week.
Meanwhile, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has been linked with a move for Subotic.
Subotic has made 192 Bundesliga appearances for Dortmund since 2008 and has 36 caps for Serbia.
