Reds eye former Arsenal defender
Liverpool have reportedly made an offer for Barcelona defender Thomas Vermaelen.
Jurgen Klopp is on the lookout for defensive reinforcements this summer, following injuries to Mamadou Sakho, Joe Gomez and Joel Matip.
And now Spanish newspaper AS claim Liverpool have made an offer for Vermaelen.
The report adds Roma have also made an offer for the Belgium international.
The former Arsenal captain moved to the Nou Camp in 2014 from the Emirates.
But he has made just 11 first-team appearances in his two years in La Liga due to several hamstring injuries.
And Vermaelen's playing time with the Catalan giants looks set to be limited even more this season following the arrival of Samuel Umtiti from Lyon.
